Cognosos has launched the new Fast Lane feature for its Cognosos Guardian solution, aimed at improving hospital staff safety.
Fast Lane, developed in response to the growing need for enhanced security measures in healthcare facilities, offers a high-priority communication pathway to ensure timely assistance during emergencies.
The healthcare sector has seen a concerning 40% of its workforce experience violence at work over the past two years.
As verbal and physical abuse towards healthcare workers rises, 80% of hospital staff have reported a sense of safety with dedicated duress solutions in place.
Cognosos product senior director Jeff Stiffler said: “Hospitals are challenged with finding IT-friendly, end-to-end communication systems that are also reliable, accurate and fast.
“Staff safety solutions hinge on three critical elements: a discreet way to notify security, accurate location tracking of the incident, and effective communication to the necessary personnel. If any one of these fails, the system fails. Cognosos Guardian already encompasses these features. The addition of Fast Lane enhances communication speed by providing a dedicated alert pathway.”
Cognosos Guardian's technology includes a discreet, wearable staff duress button that, when activated, enables real-time location tracking of the employee, whether they are inside the hospital, on outdoor pathways, or in parking areas.
Cognosos’ comprehensive indoor and outdoor coverage comes with minimal requirements for installation.
Stiffler added: “In critical moments, every second counts. We created Cognosos Guardian with Fast Lane so healthcare workers could focus on their work rather than worry about how long it might take for help to arrive. This innovation reinforces our commitment to improving the safety and well-being of staff and patients.”
