Community Health Options has collaborated with Firefly Health for the delivery of virtual health services to its members at any time and from anywhere.
Starting January next year, Firefly Virtual Primary Care will be accessible to members aged 18 and above.
This service provides a team, including nurse practitioner, a primary care doctor, behavioural health specialist and health guide. They cover all aspects of care and can frame a personalised plan to address individual concerns.
Using the Firefly Health app, members can easily access healthcare through video appointments or chat, connecting with their care team conveniently from anywhere.
When they require a specialist or in-person care, Firefly provides expert assistance in locating specialists and in-person healthcare providers, including those who can visit members at home.
Community Health Options chief medical officer Dr Lori Tishler said: “We’re delighted to offer this high-quality, convenient option, supporting our Members, as always, with our Maine-based care teams who have on-the-ground knowledge of the local resources so critical to our Members’ overall well-being.”
The Firefly primary care team offers continuous access to a dedicated group of healthcare providers. They also offer unrestricted availability for virtual comprehensive primary care that covers both physical and mental health.
Furthermore, the team provides health coaching, preventive care and chronic condition management, as well as access to a dedicated behavioural health specialist and full access to the Community Health Options provider network included within the member’s plan.
Other services include referrals for lab work and tests, or in-person visits when members require specialists’ care and offering a welcome kit that may include medical devices such as a blood pressure cuff.
Firefly Health CEO Fay Rotenberg said: “Our personalised approach to care is what every patient deserves, and we are proud to bring this novel and effective model of care to Maine with Community Health Options.”
