US-based paediatric healthcare system Dartmouth Health Children’s has rolled out a new knowledge management platform, DH Children’s Connector.
Developed in collaboration with C8 Health, a clinical resource management, the platform is designed to unify and streamline the process of care delivery across Dartmouth’s network of paediatric services.
The platform is said to provide instant access to up-to-date clinical information, trusted educational resources, and evidence-based best practices while ensuring consistent care for patients across Dartmouth Health Children’s network.
It can be accessed on various devices, offering real-time access to fully vetted clinical resources.
Healthcare providers can now check drug interactions and manage complex surgical procedures with ease, through the DH Children’s Connector.
The platform is aimed at delivering consistent care, leading to better patient outcomes, as well as promoting adherence to best practices and coordinated approved treatment protocol adoption.
Another significant advantage of DH Children’s Connector is the improved productivity and reduced burnout it offers to healthcare professionals.
With instant real-time access to vital clinical resources, the platform supports streamlined professional development and effective onboarding for new recruits.
According to Dartmouth Health, it enables efficient collaboration and application of approved protocols and trusted best practices at the point of care by consolidating clinical resources into one accessible platform.
Dartmouth Health Children’s physician-in-chief Dr Keith Loud said: “The launch of the DH Children’s Connector is a transformative step for Dartmouth Health Children’s, bringing a new level of unity and collaboration to our entire care network.
“This tool not only strengthens the connection between our main campus and member locations but also ensures that every care provider, regardless of location, has access to the same high-quality, standardised information to deliver the best possible care to our patients.”
More than 600 healthcare providers, including those in primary care, speciality services, and inpatient services at the Children’s Hospital at DHMC (ChaD), are already using the DH Children’s Connector.
The platform leverages C8 Health’s AI and natural language processing tools, allowing providers to quickly find the information they need, catering to a wide range of healthcare professionals.
