Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, an eye hospital network in India, is planning to open ten more new eye centres in Mumbai and Pune, with an investment of Rs2,250m over the next 12-18 months.
This decision follows the inauguration of a new eye hospital in Chembur, Mumbai, which brings the total count of eye hospitals in the Indian state of Maharashtra to 20.
This new eye hospital offers a range of eye care services and the latest technology.
According to Global Prime News, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospitals CEO Dr Adil Agarwal said: “We have grown five-fold in Maharashtra in the last three financial years, from four hospitals in FY20 to 20 hospitals today, and are expecting to add five more hospitals in the next six months.
“Our short- to medium-term development will be concentrated primarily in Mumbai and Pune. However, for long-term expansion in Maharashtra, we are exploring newer markets such as Nagpur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Akola, and Nanded, among others, in our effort to reach the count of 50 hospitals in the state.
“This expansion will comprise both greenfield and brownfield institutions.”
The eye hospital chain also plans to establish more than 100 primary eye clinics in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns in the coming years, stated Globe Prime News.
Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospitals operate in 13 states and three union territories in India.
Internationally, the chain has a presence in ten countries in Africa, providing eye care to patients across the continent.
