Dubai Health, an integrated academic health system, has laid the foundation stone for the city’s first integrated and comprehensive cancer hospital, Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital (HBRCH).  

The latest milestone was marked by a ceremony, which took place at the new hospital site in Al Jaddaf, Dubai. 

It was presided over by Dubai's Crown Prince and the Executive Council of Dubai chairman, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.  

During the ceremony, Rashid Al Maktoum also revealed the design of the hospital.  

The hospital’s development is being supported by contributions from the Al Jalila Foundation, a key philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, with donations from various individuals and institutions.  

Spanning 56,000m², the hospital is scheduled to welcome patients in 2026.  

It will feature 50 clinics, ten emergency care rooms, 30 clinical research spaces, 60 IV rooms, and five radiotherapy rooms, as well as a total of 116 beds.  

The new hospital will also comprise 19 gardens, which are intended to provide a healing environment for patients and spaces for families to gather.  

It will offer a full spectrum of services, from diagnosis to comprehensive treatment, all under one roof, with certain treatments being available to patients in their homes. 

In addition, HBRCH will be a hub for research and clinical trials, striving to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based care.  

This initiative is expected to propel Dubai to the forefront of healthcare innovation, particularly in the field of oncology. 

Stantech, known for its sustainable architectural practices, has been commissioned for the hospital's construction. 

The hospital aims to improve healthcare service delivery by transitioning from traditional inpatient care to a model that emphasises outpatient and home-based care.
