El Camino Health has introduced a healthcare innovation fund, aimed at advancing patient care through the adoption of new healthcare technologies.

Supported by donation from philanthropists Pamela and Edward Taft, the fund is claimed to help El Camino Health remain at the forefront of innovation in healthcare.

The Tafts have been long-time supporters of El Camino Health and have contributed to various initiatives over the years.

Their philanthropic efforts have helped to enhance patient care and support nursing excellence.

The new Taft Innovation Fund will focus on addressing emerging needs in areas such as clinical care, medical technology, clinical research, compassionate care services, and other emerging areas.

El Camino Health has been a pioneer in adopting new tools and technologies over the years.

It has already initiated eight innovation projects, which encompass a range of technologies including smart devices, mobile communication systems, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

These projects aim to revolutionise patient experiences, care coordination, and clinical outcomes.

Examples of the projects include wearable devices for patient monitoring, a personalised digital patient experience, and the use of robots for delivering supplies.
