Elmwood Park, New Jersey-based healthcare connectivity solutions provider ELLKAY has introduced LKOasis, an enterprise-wide data management platform, that expands on its healthcare data archive LKArchive.

This platform serves hospitals and health systems, offering a comprehensive solution for various healthcare data management needs.

LKOasis enables data migration, archiving, and integrating both live and legacy patient data into a unified dashboard.

ELLKAY president and chief strategy officer Ajay Kapare said: “As ELLKAY continues to innovate and grow, it has become evident that our platform has evolved into more than just an archive; it's a virtual safe-haven for both live and legacy data, allowing data to thrive for full utilisation to critical historical and current patient data, secure, unobstructed, and connected.”

“LKOasis is truly an oasis for your organisation's data."

LKOasis is designed to address healthcare challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and facilitate data-driven care decisions.

The platform's expansion includes active document management, live data integration, reporting, analytics, care coordination, and various clinical workflows.

Lehigh Valley Health Network application development and support technology director Nikunjkumar Patel said: “As of 2023, ELLKAY has archived over 100 plus acute and ambulatory applications for us.

“The partnership with ELLKAY has helped us achieve our goals of reducing operating expenses and decommissioning acquired legacy applications.

“I am excited about the announcement of LKOasis and the value it will bring to organisations, offering a holistic data management approach to seamlessly view data in a way that allows care teams to see the entire health of a patient with access not only to archived data but also live data.”

With a history of connecting approximately 58,000 organisations and supporting nearly 750 EHR/PM systems, ELLKAY operates in healthcare data connectivity and management.

Generative AI set to transform the medical devices industry

GlobalData estimates the total AI market will be worth $908.7 billion in 2030, with a 35% CAGR (2022-30). Generative AI can improve personalized healthcare by collecting data from patients via wearable devices. It can also enhance existing imaging techniques by generating high-quality images of organs using data from low-resolution images (such as ultrasounds). However, the collection and use of patient healthcare data and information through AI medical products could conflict with regulations around the globe.
