US-based rehabilitation hospital owner and operator Encompass Health has unveiled preliminary plans to construct a new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the Wiregrass Ranch community of Wesley Chapel, Florida.
This facility will join the company's extensive network, which currently includes 165 hospitals across 38 states and Puerto Rico.
The proposed hospital will cater to patients recovering from a range of serious conditions such as strokes, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopaedic issues.
It aims to provide care, including 24-hour nursing and a variety of therapies focused on restoring functional ability and enhancing the quality of life.
Patients at the new hospital will have access to private rooms, a large therapy gym equipped with advanced rehabilitation technologies, and an activities daily living suite.
Additional facilities will include an in-house dialysis suite, a dining area, a pharmacy, and a therapy courtyard.
The hospital will utilise technology and treatments, delivered by a team of specialised nurses, therapists, and physicians.
Encompass Health Southeast president Lori Bedard said: “We are excited to bring inpatient rehabilitation services to Wesley Chapel and surrounding communities.
“The hospital will provide high-quality, compassionate and individualised care close to home, helping patients regain the strength and function needed to return to the community at their highest level of independence.”
The anticipated opening of the Wesley Chapel Hospital in 2027 is part of Encompass Health's strategic expansion within Florida.
This follows the recent inauguration of the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Mill in South Carolina in September.
The 39-bed facility became the company's 165th hospital in the US and ninth in the state.
