US-based health care services company The Ensign Group has acquired the operations of a skilled nursing facility, Providence Place, in Kansas.
This acquisition officially took effect on 1 October 2023, marking the latest addition to Ensign’s healthcare operations.
The acquired 45-bed nursing facility is located on the Providence Medical Center campus.
The transaction will operate under a long-term, triple net lease arrangement.
Ensign CEO Barry Port said: “This acquisition created a perfect opportunity for growth in Kansas, where we have been carefully reviewing opportunities for some time.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Providence Medical Center and Prime Healthcare.”
With this latest addition, the Ensign Group and its subsidiaries operate 296 healthcare facilities across 13 states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
They offer skilled nursing, senior living, and rehabilitative services, occupational, physical, and speech therapies, and other healthcare offerings.
In addition to the Kansas facility acquisition, Ensign is looking for more opportunities to acquire and lease healthcare-related businesses across the US.
Ensign’s Kansas-based subsidiary Gateway Healthcare president Spencer Burton said: “This operation is well situated to become the operation-of-choice in its market.
“We are excited to work together with our healthcare partners as we strive to provide top-notch care for our patients and families we are honoured to serve.”
