The Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US, has hosted a ribbon-cutting event for its new satellite location comprising 48 beds.

This expands the hospital’s capacity to 144 beds across two sites, marking the first key capacity expansion since its launch in 2018.

Aimed at improving access to acute behavioural healthcare for adults and older adults in the region, the new beds will be available starting this month.

The hospital, which is the result of a partnership between Erlanger and Acadia Healthcare, caters to people staying in southeastern Tennessee and nearby areas.

It offers a comprehensive range of personalised services for patients aged 12 years and above, addressing a variety of behavioural health diagnoses.

Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital CEO Robin Weagley said: “We are very pleased to expand our facility to help meet the growing behavioural health needs of our area residents.
