UK-based Bradford Health Services has hired Lisa Evans from Perimeter Healthcare to serve as its new CEO.

Evans has more than ten years of expertise in heading development efforts within multistate organisations.

She noted: “Assuming the lead for Bradford is an honour. We will continue to practice client-focused treatment while innovating service delivery to address the needs of those who are struggling to access care.”

At Perimeter Healthcare, Evans was the corporate COO with responsibility for managing hospitals and facilities in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.

During her five-year leadership, the company is said to have recorded a nearly 20% increase in revenue.

Earlier, Evans held executive positions at national healthcare organisations, such as Universal Health Services, Strategic Behavioral Health, and Hospital Corporation.

She was the first behavioural health CEO to become part of the Arkansas Hospital Association board.

Bradford Health Services board chair Jon O’Shaughnessy said: “I am extremely pleased to have Lisa as a partner to drive Bradford’s growth and development strategies.

“I am confident her focus on the patient experience will serve to differentiate Bradford’s offerings from those of our competitors.”

Bradford Health offers substance abuse treatment services through a network of 40 facilities.

These services comprise early intervention services, crisis response, intensive outpatient care, and partial hospitalisation, among others.

Patient consumerism is gaining momentum

Healthcare is evolving from a ‘doctor knows best’ mentality to a patient-doctor relationship where the patient takes an active role in making informed healthcare decisions. Patients can have more of a say in their healthcare decisions because they have access to information through various means, including the literature, the internet, and more recently, different types of connected medical devices. With the rise of mobile health applications, wearable technologies, and telemedicine, patients are well-situated to gain medical information, and ultimately make the best choices for their health.
