Dr Soliman Abdel Kader Fakeeh Hospital Company (Fakeeh Care) has announced plans to start construction of the HEAL Neuroscience, Rehabilitation and Post Acute Care Hospital (HEAL) in Jeddah, following the completion of its design phase in the second half of next year.
According to Zawya, the development, which is valued at approximately SR460m ($122.6m), encompasses the costs of construction, fittings, furniture, and the installation of the required medical equipment.
The greenfield hospital occupies 24,000m² of leased land and will feature a total of 200 beds and specialised zones for neuroscience.
It will also include a retirement zone ,in-patient rehabilitation for addiction and mental disorders, and physical rehabilitation clinics for out-patients.
This information was disclosed in the company's financial results for the first half of 2024, the report said.
In addition to HEAL, Fakeeh Care has several other projects in progress.
These include the DSFH Jeddah Surgery Tower Extension project, which is approaching the construction phase and expected to begin in the second half of 2024, with completion targeted for the second half of 2027.
This facility will house 140 beds, along with 13 operating theatres.
Another project is the DSFH South Obhur, Jeddah, which is also progressing, with land acquisition completed and Japan’s HKS appointed as the designer.
The anticipated completion is in the first half of 2028, featuring 300 beds and 11 operating theatres.
The DSFMC Al Hamra, Riyadh project, offering 22 clinics and two-day surgery units, is progressing, with land already acquired and the design for the first phase finalised.
Associated construction work is planned to start in the fourth quarter of this year and will conclude in the second half of 2026.
For the DSFH Makkah project, a 40-year land lease has been secured and a designer appointed.
With the schematic design submitted for approval, construction is due to start in the second half of 2024 and finish by the second half of 2027.
The DSFMC Alawali, Makkah project construction contract has been awarded to Advance Horizon Company, a wholly owned subsidiary, with completion expected in the second half of 2025.
It will include 20 clinics and two day-surgery units.
Other significant projects include DSFMC North Obhur, Jeddah, where construction has started and is likely to be completed by first half of 2025; and DSFMC Al Zahra, Jeddah, with the building lease signed in August, and construction and fit-out starting in the second half of 2024.
