France-based urology clinic Clinique Urologique Nantes-Atlantis has installed the Versius surgical robot from CMR Surgical into its robotic surgery programme.
The clinic has already performed surgeries with Versius, covering procedures such as prostatectomies, nephrectomies, and cystectomies.
Versius allows surgical teams to collect data, procedural videos, and clinical insights within the CMR clinical registry.
This data helps surgeons and healthcare institutions with in-depth knowledge about their surgical practices, facilitating continuous learning and improving healthcare system efficiency.
With over 140 systems in use worldwide, Versius is said to feature adaptable design, offering optimised port placement, precision with fully wristed instruments, 3D HD vision, and ergonomic working positions.
Clinique Urologique Nantes-Atlantis general manager Camilla Belbeoc’h said: “Flexible and versatile, the Versius surgical robot has the advantage of combining performance with ease of learning. Versius is the only small, modular and portable surgical robot on the market, making it easy for surgical teams to utilise.
“It can easily be moved between operating rooms to suit schedules and workflows. Because of its open console, Versius also helps to optimise communication during surgery.
“All these assets are beneficial to caregivers and patients alike. Another significant advantage of CMR’s offering, was its flexible approach to financing, which has helped to standardise the costs of robotic-assisted surgery for our clinic.”
UK-based CMR Surgical works closely with surgeons, surgical teams, and hospitals to make robotic minimal access surgery accessible and cost-effective.
Besides, it aims to transform the surgical robotics market through innovative technology and data that can improve surgical care.Top of Form
CMR Surgical France and Benelux general manager Patricia Chesnais said: “We always design the installation of a new robot in a spirit of partnership, with the objective of improving the health of patients, in the service of public health.
“That is why we are delighted to work alongside the highly qualified teams at Clinique Urologique Nantes Atlantis to bring the benefits of minimal access surgery to more patients, thanks to Versius.
“This partnership, with such a centre of excellence in Europe, and among the leaders in its discipline in France, is an important step for CMR.”
