India based cancer care provider Healthcare Global Enterprises (HCG) has confirmed its plans to open two new comprehensive cancer care centres in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
These two facilities, which are planned to be located in the Whitefield and North Bengaluru areas, are expected to begin operations from early 2025.
HCG said that the new centres are being opened as part of its strategic expansion plan to provide advanced and specialised cancer treatments to the densely populated areas of the city, adding to its existing Bengaluru hospital network.
These two centres will be HCG’s third and fourth hospitals in Bengaluru.
The strategically located centres will offer a wide range of cancer care services, from precise diagnostics to tailored treatment plans, all at one location.
Each facility will contribute to the network's capacity with a combined total of 125 beds.
These additions will complement HCG's flagship Centre of Excellence at KR Road and Double Road, Bengaluru, which together house 300 beds.
HCG's expansion in Bengaluru also includes plans for two new day care centres, aimed at reducing travel times and improving accessibility for patients requiring frequent treatments such as chemotherapy.
These will add to the existing three daycare centres in the residential areas of Banashankari, Kalyan Nagar, and Malleshwaram.
The North Bengaluru centre will be equipped with the MR LINAC radiation system, a technology that combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with a linear accelerator (LINAC).
According to the company, the use of this system is expected to enhance radiation therapy in the state by enhancing clinical outcomes, minimising side effects, and shortening treatment durations.
HCG currently includes 21 comprehensive cancer centres, 24 hospitals across India and Africa, as well as seven daycare centres.
Healthcare Global Enterprises executive chairman Dr B S Ajaikumar said: “Our new advanced centres at Whitefield and North Bengaluru are pivotal to our aim of extending our network to the local community sustainably, ensuring high-quality cancer care is accessible to all.
“With Bengaluru being HCG's home ground, this expansion not only reflects our deep-rooted connection to the city but also our commitment to enhancing the healthcare landscape for the benefit of the local community."
