US-based healthcare organisations Infirmary Health and Ochsner Health have partnered with Ochsner Accountable Care Network (OACN) to enhance the health outcomes of seniors in the Gulf Coast region.

The collaboration will provide comprehensive and coordinated services tailored to the specific needs of senior patients, especially those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, both within and outside of healthcare facilities.

Together, they aim to enhance healthcare efficiency and improve health outcomes for seniors in the Gulf Coast region.

Through this alliance, Infirmary Health physicians work alongside OACN's 2,250 plus physicians to deliver coordinated and quality care to Medicare patients.

It will focus on sharing clinical practices, enhancing patient experiences, coordinating comprehensive care services, leveraging advanced data analytics, and offering population health support programmes for seniors.

Infirmary Health executive vice-president and COO Joe Stough said: “Infirmary Health’s commitment to providing the highest quality healthcare in the safest environment has remained the cornerstone of this organisation throughout its 113-year history.

“This partnership with Ochsner allows us to combine our strengths with like-minded physician groups across the Gulf South and deliver on our commitment to seniors in our respective communities.”

Ochsner Accountable Care Network (OACN) specialises in clinical care and healthcare cost savings for Medicare beneficiaries.

According to a press statement, OACN has helped to reduce the cost of care by over $27m for more than 52,000 Medicare patients in 2022, saving more than $127m in healthcare spending over the past seven years.

OACN medical director and executive director Beau Raymond said: “We’re excited for Infirmary Health to join Ochsner Accountable Care Network.

“Infirmary Health has a reputation for high quality, compassionate care that aligns with OACN values.

“By working together, we can better coordinate and ensure preventative care and management of chronic conditions for the people of the Gulf South.”
