Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital in Utah, US has inaugurated its second campus, Larry H and Gail Miller Family Campus, in Lehi.
This milestone comes after decades of planning and three years of construction to further support the expansion of paediatric healthcare services in Utah and the Intermountain West.
The Miller Family Campus is scheduled to welcome patients starting 12 February, and will offer a comprehensive range of specialty paediatric services.
Situated at 2250 N Miller Campus Drive, it features a trauma centre, an outpatient centre, medical office building, and a five-storey, Primary Children’s Hospital with 66 beds spread over 486,000ft² area.
The facility is designed to provide nearly identical services to those available at the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Medical staff at the Miller Family Campus will work in tandem with University of Utah Health's paediatric specialists.
This collaboration ensures the delivery of paediatric care at the new campus, reinforcing Intermountain Health's commitment to building a model health system for children.
Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital CEO and Intermountain Children’s Health vice-president Katy Welkie said: “The Larry H & Gail Miller Family Campus honours the Miller family’s support and vision for children’s health and wellness in the Intermountain West and symbolises the most significant boost in children’s healthcare delivery since Primary Children’s Hospital opened 102 years ago.”
The development of the Miller Family Campus is part of the broader Primary Promise initiative, which requires a significant investment of at least $600m in children's health.
This funding is a collective effort, with contributions from Intermountain Health and philanthropic support from the community.
The Primary Promise campaign, which began in January 2020, was propelled by a $50m donation from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation.
