Intermountain Health in the US has commenced construction work with the groundbreaking of a 90,000ft² medical office building in the southwest valley of Las Vegas.

This three-storey facility is claimed to be the first construction project of the health system in Nevada.

The new project is scheduled to offer primary care and various speciality services at a single location.

To be equipped with an infusion centre, linear accelerator, and healing garden, the centre will provide paediatrics, women’s health, adult primary care, radiation and oncology, and senior primary care services.

The works at the building are projected to be completed by the beginning of next year, with the welcoming of patients starting by June 2025.

Martin-Harris Construction is tasked with the development works of this building.

Intermountain Health currently operates more than 65 clinics across southern Nevada, which also comprises 30 senior primary care clinics offering services for adults aged 65 and above.

The health system also offers primary, speciality, and urgent care services to nearly 350,000 people in the Clark and Nye counties of southern Nevada.

Intermountain Health Desert Region president Mitchell Cloward said: “Intermountain Health is elevating the quality of healthcare delivered in southern Nevada.

“Our caregivers serve our patients and communities with compassion, respect, and kindness as they carry out our mission of helping patients live the healthiest lives possible. This begins with access to affordable, preventative care that aims to simplify our patients’ interactions with healthcare while making it more convenient.”

In April this year, Intermountain Health entered into a strategic partnership with Sensorum Health to enhance primary care access and health outcomes for older adults living with multiple chronic conditions.

Under this deal, Intermountain agreed to integrate its expertise in clinical quality and patient-centred care with the advanced remote monitoring technology of Sensorum.
