India-based eye care hospital chain Maxivision has opened a 'super-speciality' eye care hospital in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
The facility has been described as 'ultra-modern' and is part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the state government in September under Project Velicham.
Its opening follows the establishment of Maxivision centres in Perambalur and Thanjavur of Tamil Nadu.
The Trichy hospital covers 11,000ft² and is equipped with up-to-date vision diagnostic equipment.
It includes four advanced infection control operation theatres with modular HEPA filters, more than ten consultation rooms, diagnostic stations and a 'spacious' optical store.
The hospital features a team of super-speciality doctors with more than 25 years of experience in ophthalmology, who provide a comprehensive range of eye care services.
Among the services provided at the hospital are robotic laser cataract surgery, diabetic retinal eye disease treatment, LASIK and CLEAR lenticular procedures, interventions for diabetic retinas, advanced surgical retina, cornea, oculoplasty and paediatric eye care, and treatment for glaucoma and oculoplasty.
The facility has exclusive clinics for myopia and dry eye conditions, as well as specialised neonatal paediatric retina care.
It also includes a pharmacy and an optical store selling prescription glasses and frames from international brands.
In addition, the diagnostic chain Neuberg Diagnostics operates an advanced lab collection centre at the facility.
Maxivision Super-Speciality Eye Hospitals promoter and chairman Dr GSK Velu said: “The marvel of technology has brought us to an era where robots assist in enhancing the precision of medical procedures, particularly precision surgeries in ophthalmology.
"At Maxivision, our unwavering mission is to provide accessible and affordable eye care for all, and this new centre represents a significant step toward realising this commitment."
Maxivision operates more than 48 hospitals across the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
