McKenzie Health System, a Michigan-based healthcare provider, has deployed eClinicalWorks solutions to enhance its operations and value-based care.
It has deployed eClinicalWorks’ EHR version V12, Clinical Rules Engine (CRE), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
eClinicalWorks’s solutions will help ensure consistent patient care and optimise workflow for the employees of McKenzie Health System.
McKenzie Health System serves 9,000 patients across six primary care clinics, three specialty clinics, and an after-hours clinic.
Its staff experience administrative burdens due to repetitive coding for patient care visits.
By leveraging the eClinicalWorks EHR, the providers at the health system will be able to provide comprehensive care, claimed eClinicalWorks, which is an ambulatory cloud EHR.
Leveraging the CRE, McKenzie Health System can automate codes with data drawn from a care visit.
Due to the rules engine reminders and alerts, the coding staff and physicians can submit the precise billing information on the first try, thereby reducing duplicated efforts.
As the health system has rural clinic locations, it is critical to ensure consistent care is vital for its patients.
With the CRE, doctors, and nurses can get prompts to offer follow-up care to a patient and make sure requirements are met to streamline office visits for patients who may have to travel far to receive care.
McKenzie Health provides cardiology, dermatology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, rheumatology, psychiatry, podiatry, and plastic surgery services.
McKenzie Health System clinical IT quality specialist Angela Stratton said: “In a typical patient visit, there are several codes for staff to remember to input.
It’s time-consuming for staff to remember every code, and it impacts our billing process when codes are missed.
“With the eClinicalWorks Clinical Rules Engine, we see a significant improvement in our coding process.
The Clinical Rules Engine automatically drops the appropriate codes based on documentation. Our staff spend less time coding and can focus their attention on direct patient care.
This is an amazing tool within eClinicalWorks, and I recommend it to all eClinicalWorks users.”
