Med Center Health acquires Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky

Effective from 1 July, the deal will rebrand Logan Memorial Hospital as The Medical Center at Russellville.

US-based non-profit health system Med Center Health has announced its acquisition of Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky.

The financial details and other terms and conditions of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The acquisition will become effective from 1 July and will involve Logan Memorial Hospital being rebranded as The Medical Center at Russellville.

Logan Memorial will be the seventh hospital acquired by Med Center Health, which will also gain three medical office buildings and several rural health clinics once the deal has closed.

The 75-bed acute care Logan Memorial Hospital serves a population of roughly 45,000.

The hospital's bed complement includes six intensive care unit and critical care unit (ICU/CCU) beds along with ten swing beds.

Logan Memorial Hospital's services include surgery centre that houses three operating rooms and two endoscopy suites, as well as an emergency department that operates at all hours with physician staffing.

The hospital also has a suite of imaging technologies such as 3D digital mammography, MRI, PACS, a spiral 16-slice CT, 3D ultrasound, ECHO and nuclear medicine.

In addition, it offers laboratory services, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, an infusion centre, outpatient rehabilitation and a two-bed sleep disorder centre.

The medical staff at Logan Memorial Hospital are specialists in various fields, including family practice, internal medicine, paediatrics and general surgery.
