US-based health-and-safety IT company Beyond Lucid Technologies has chosen MedAllies, a healthcare interoperability and connectivity services provider, as its qualified health information network (QHIN) partner.

Software company Beyond Lucid Technologies specialises in developing solutions that enable mobile medical professionals to access patient information before arriving on the scene and share real-time insights across the care continuum instantly.

The IT company offers a ‘communication platform-as-a-service’ (CPaaS) software, which focuses on maintaining interoperability and providing speciality care data to responders in the field, and patented post-crash intelligence.

This CPaaS software also makes emergency medical services (EMS), fire, non-emergency medical/inter-facility transport, mobile integrated health and critical care more efficient, safe and cost-effective.

The latest partnership will help in facilitating real-time information sharing within the mobile medicine ecosystem, connecting ambulances, hospitals, and public health entities.

MedAllies, as a QHIN partner, will allow EMS and medical transportation providers to use Beyond Lucid's MEDIVIEW BEACON prehospital health information exchange or "prehospital pipe" through any NEMSIS v3-compliant patient care record (PCR) system.

This "prehospital pipe" supports the acquisition and sharing of crucial patient data, potentially saving lives by informing healthcare facilities before patient transfer.

MedAllies recently received the designation as a QHIN under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement.

QHINs are critical for ensuring interoperability between networks, allowing secure and reliable patient data exchange, which is essential for informed patient-care decisions.

MedAllies CEO John Blair said: “Our partnership with Beyond Lucid Technologies will help drive greater interoperability between EMS providers and hospitals, resulting in higher-quality care after patient handoffs.

“The MedAllies and Beyond Lucid Technologies partnership is the first between a QHIN and a mobile medicine-facing technology partner and we are excited by this opportunity to facilitate real-time consumable data across the mobile medicine ecosystem.”

Serving more than 800 hospitals, 5,000 organisations, and 125,000 healthcare providers, MedAllies collaborates with numerous partners to streamline the healthcare experience and focus on patient-centred care.

MedAllies ensures secure critical health information transmission via national networks, setting standards for integration, document retrieval, message delivery success, patient record location, directory accuracy and data usability.

As a QHIN partner, MedAllies will allow EMS and medical transportation providers to use Beyond Lucid's prehospital health information exchange to acquire patient data.
