US-based virtual care clinic Midi Health and not-for-profit health system Memorial Hermann have partnered to provide expert care for women going through midlife hormonal changes.
The partnership aims to address 'life-altering' symptoms that can affect women during the perimenopause and menopause stages.
Midi's virtual clinic offers telehealth services while maintaining a connection with Memorial Hermann-affiliated physicians.
Memorial Hermann women's and children's service line vice-president Dr Victoria Regan said: “With today marking World Menopause Day, it was the perfect occasion to unveil this collaboration as an innovative way to provide our patients experiencing midlife hormonal conditions with specialised care developed by experts in perimenopause and menopause.
“With Midi Health, women now have an integrated solution to meet their full health care needs, in collaboration with their affiliated providers here at Memorial Hermann.”
Patients can access Midi's care directly or through referrals from their Memorial Hermann doctors, receiving personalised care plans developed by perimenopause and menopause experts.
After virtual visits, women may be referred for in-person care such as screenings and surgeries, which will all be covered by insurance in Texas.
Led by experts in women's midlife health, Midi Health aims to fill a healthcare gap for women going through midlife hormonal transitions.
It provides personalised care plans that can include medications, lifestyle coaching and preventative health guidance.
Midi Health CEO and co-founder Joanna Strober said: “We are excited to collaborate with Memorial Hermann to close the gap in care for the millions of women who experience symptoms of menopause.
“Menopause symptoms are correlated with cardiovascular disease, among other challenges which is actually the theme of this year's World Menopause Day.

“This programme gives women access to the treatment they need at a crucial stage in their lives.”
