US-based Mount Sinai Health System has partnered with digital healthcare company Noom to provide patients with a comprehensive approach to weight management.
The companies aim to offer continuous digital support for behaviour change, aiding patients in their health journey beyond regular doctor visits while keeping Mount Sinai physicians updated on patients' progress.
Certain patient groups will have the opportunity to be referred by Mount Sinai physicians to the Noom Weight app, which is claimed to be scientifically validated to facilitate lasting changes in eating habits.
The app leverages technology and psychological principles to offer customised nutritional guidance, fitness tracking and macro monitoring tailored to individual patients' needs.
Noom Healthcare president Jodi Bryant said: “By offering comprehensive, personalised support that addresses the full spectrum of our users' physical, emotional and behavioural needs, we empower them to achieve lasting results.
“Our platform is designed to meet individuals where they are on their health journeys, providing the tools and guidance necessary to navigate and succeed at every stage.”
Noom will provide Mount Sinai patients with access to its network of specialists for a broad range of healthcare services related to weight loss, from chronic care management to complex speciality care requirements.
This access is part of Noom's efforts to connect individuals with the resources they need to foster positive behavioural changes and healthier lifestyles.
Noom collaborates with health plans and employers to offer a range of programmes, including Noom Med Center Of Excellence, Noom Healthy Weight, Noom GLP-1 Companion, and Noom Diabetes Prevention.
Mount Sinai Solutions senior vice-president Lauren Lisher said: “By integrating the Noom platform into our care approach, we’re enhancing the patient experience with digital tools that support their health goals.
“This partnership makes it easier for patients to embrace and stick to personalised care plans that seamlessly fit into their lifestyles.”
