US-based multi-speciality physician group Medical Specialists of the Palm Beaches (MSPB) has acquired medical practice Schlein & Shinder in an effort to expand its range of concierge services.

The acquisition is MSPB’s second this year and its seventh since partnering with healthcare-focused private equity company Ascend Partners and healthcare network CareAbout Health.

Schlein & Shinder is a premier medical practice in Palm Beach County run by Drs Andrew Schlein and Stacey Shinder.

The practice treats patients with chronic diabetes, coronary artery disease, chronic high blood pressure and bronchitis among other conditions.

Dr Schlein said: “Joining MSPB will allow us to continue to deliver personalised, high-quality care to our patients while gaining access to the extensive resources and support of MSPB's strong practice management and innovative care delivery solutions.

MSPB said the acquisition aligns with its plans for the Quadruple Aim of healthcare, which aims to improve healthcare outcomes and both patient and provider experiences while reducing medical expenditures.

Established in 1995, MSPB currently operates more than 37 offices in Palm Beach and Broward counties in South Florida, employing more than 125 providers.

The group's services include primary care, cardiology, interventional cardiology, neurology, haematology and oncology, gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, concierge medicine, and laboratory services.

Earlier this year, MSPB acquired Family Medical Center, a physician practice based in Palm Beach Gardens.
