NEC Australia has announced plans to install digital technologies at the new Footscray Hospital in Victoria.

The latest wireless network technologies will also support real time location service and enhance patient connectivity.
The new Footscray Hospital will have more than 500 inpatient beds and treat nearly 15,000 additional patients every year.
It will also provide employment opportunities for the locals, improve patient outcomes as well as reduce wait times of patients.
Emergency departments of the hospital are expected to accommodate 20,000 more people each year.
NEC Australia CEO Jason Price said: “We are delighted to be involved in such an important project for the state of Victoria and its public health system.
“NEC’s position as a trusted technology partner with expertise in supporting the healthcare sector played a pivotal role in our selection to deliver technology to the new Footscray Hospital.
“We look forward to working with the new Footscray Hospital project team to deliver exceptional outcomes and contribute to the continued advancement of healthcare facilities in Victoria.”
Anticipated to be completed in 2025, the new project is being built by Multiplex and delivered by Plenary Health in collaboration with the Victorian Health Building Authority and Western Health.
