New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS), an orthopaedic provider in Western Massachusetts, has partnered with athenahealth, a network-enabled software and services provider in the healthcare sector.
NEOS will implement athenahealth’s Cloud-based suite, athenaOne, in an effort to enhance patient care, optimise its operations and support its growth.
The athenaOne suite includes electronic health record (EHR), revenue cycle management (RCM) and patient engagement solutions that are designed to enhance patient care and maximise revenue for healthcare providers.
The EHR component helps to reduce administrative burden for physicians by streamlining workflows, enabling them to focus on patient-centric care.
The RCM services use intelligent technology and expert support to simplify complex payer requirements, increase revenue and minimise administrative work.
athenaOne's patient engagement services are intended to provide patients with easy access to health information and care services while reducing administrative tasks for staff.
The athenaOne network is also claimed to enable seamless data exchange with pharmacies, labs, payers and other parties while providing insights through Insights Dashboards for informed decision-making.
athenaOne's other capabilities include advisory services, the athenahealth Marketplace and platform services to explore clinical and financial data.
athenahealth chief operating officer Bret Connor said: “We are excited to welcome New England Orthopedic Surgeons Group to our network, particularly given the passion they have for delivering high-quality care and a great patient experience.
“Our software and services have a track record of enabling high-performing orthopaedic surgeons and this is an area of focus for us.
“We look forward to partnering with NEOS to drive greater staff efficiency, strengthened patient relationships through improved experiences, and faster revenue cycle turnaround, while their care team continues to deliver great patient care.”
NEOS delivers care for musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, employing more than 50 providers in total.
The orthopaedic practice is claimed to be the only sub-specialised comprehensive orthopaedic surgical practice in Western Massachusetts.
