US-based inpatient speciality care hospital network Nexus Health Systems has launched a new facility in San Antonio, Texas.

The 22,278ft² Nexus Neurorecovery Center-San Antonio will provide care for adolescents suffering from brain or spinal cord injury.

It will also serve patients with co-occurring behavioural, mental and physical health conditions and offer them various types of therapies.

Services include traditional, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy.

The new facility provides comprehensive care, integrating psychiatry, internal medicine, and rehabilitation.

It features 25 private and semi-private rooms, transitional suites, rehabilitation gyms, music therapy spaces, and various lounges.

In addition, it offers two comprehensive programmes for adolescents such as True North Residential and RISE programmes.

The True North Residential programme provides guidance to help adolescents who may feel lost or face medical and behavioural health challenges while RISE offers personalised care across all phases of recovery for adolescents recovering from brain or spinal cord injuries.

Nexus Neurorecovery Center-San Antonio CEO Justin Sanderson said: "Not only is Nexus expanding our services and programmes into an area where they're in high demand, but we're developing programmes to help individuals who have been turned away from everywhere else they've tried to seek care.

"We're offering a place for adolescents to find healing and security, where a true multidisciplinary team is onsite to address their medical and behavioural conditions that brought them to us.

"That's what sets us apart. With this new location, we're saying, 'Come here. Nexus wants to help you.”
