North Star Vascular & Interventional (NSVI) has inaugurated a new outpatient centre in Golden Valley, Minneapolis, specialising in minimally invasive vascular treatments.

This centre aims to provide patients with advanced alternatives to conventional hospital-based surgeries, addressing a range of health conditions including peripheral artery and venous disease, and cancer, among others.

The approach of interventional radiology allows for treatment from within the body, using catheters and guided imaging to precisely target the site of concern.

This technique offers patients the benefits of surgery without the need for general anaesthesia, hospital stays, scarring, and with a reduced recovery time.

NSVI features advanced treatment rooms and diagnostic imaging equipment to diagnose patients and guide procedures.

Besides, the centre incorporates the latest GE Healthcare robotic-driven angiography system, enhancing patient positioning and access during image-guided therapy.

All procedures at NSVI are FDA-approved and supported by clinical research.

The founders of NSVI include University of Minnesota Medical School interventional radiology professor emeritus Jafar Golzarian for procedures such as prostate artery embolisation and uterine fibroid embolisation.

University of Minnesota Medical School graduate Amin Astani, affiliated with Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago, brings clinical experience in areas such as peripheral artery disease, varicoceles, male infertility, spine fractures, and pain management.

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago chief of interventional radiology Bulent Arslan is a key opinion leader in peripheral vascular disease.

NSVI is said to be the one of the region's only outpatient Y-90 radioembolisation centres for liver cancer treatment.

Additionally, the centre offers minimally invasive treatments for a variety of conditions such as chronic pain, uterine fibroids, and osteoarthritis of the knee.

The team at NSVI is the first in the US to perform certain imaging-guided procedures.
