Digital health company WELL Health Technologies' subsidiary OceanMD has entered a strategic partnership with HEALWELL AI's business Intrahealth to further expand access to eReferral healthcare solutions.
This collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and connectivity of healthcare services by integrating OceanMD’s eReferral system with Intrahealth to provide the solution to the latter’s extensive network of facilities.
OceanMD, a Canadian provider of electronic medical record (EMR)-integrated patient engagement and eReferral solutions, operates on the secure, cloud-based Ocean Platform.
Meanwhile, Intrahealth specialises in developing and implementing electronic health record solutions.
The partnership is expected to benefit healthcare providers and patients by enabling more streamlined and connected services.
Through this integration, healthcare providers using Intrahealth's solutions will be able to send, receive, and manage eReferrals directly from their EMR systems.
This capability is anticipated to simplify workflows and improve the standard of patient care.

OceanMD's platform is currently responsible for more than 120,000 eReferrals and eConsults every month.
It has played a crucial role in securing contracts with several Canadian provinces, such as British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Ontario, for the deployment of eOrders, eConsult, and eReferral systems.
The collaboration builds on OceanMD's efforts to drive standards-based interoperability, which will now allow Intrahealth to aid in reducing administrative burdens, streamlining healthcare processes, offering patients improved access to their health data, and enhancing provider efficiency.
