This collaboration aims to simplify the discovery and enrolment process for Omada's cardiometabolic programmes.

Omada Health has forged a partnership with Amazon Health Services, becoming the inaugural participant in Amazon's Health Condition Programs.

This collaboration aims to simplify the discovery and enrolment process for Omada's cardiometabolic programmes for their 20 million eligible members.

As a virtual healthcare provider specialising in diabetes prevention, diabetes, and hypertension, Omada's inclusion in Amazon's initiative facilitates the accessibility of virtual care benefits at no additional cost to individuals covered by employers or health plans.

Addressing the ongoing challenge of raising awareness about insurer and employer-sponsored digital health benefits, the collaboration seeks to tap into the pool of individuals who may be unaware of available benefits.

Statistics from the Bureau of Labor reveal that employees often leave nearly 30% of their total compensation unutilised through unused benefits.

Furthermore, approximately a quarter of US adults are reported to be unaware of the full extent of benefits provided by their health insurer coverage and employer.

The new enrolment pathway introduced through this collaboration aims to target the one in ten commercially insured Americans, who have access to enrol in Omada but are currently uninformed.

Amazon customers seeking products related to diabetes prevention, diabetes, and hypertension care now check their eligibility for health condition programmes.

By visiting the Amazon Health webpage, individuals can initiate a general coverage check.

If deemed eligible, they will be directed to Omada's website to complete the enrolment process.

Omada include over 1,900 employers and health plan customers, covering more than 20 million lives.

With a track record spanning over 12 years, Omada received satisfaction from 88% of its members of the programme.

Amazon vice-president Aaron Martin said: “Amazon wants to make it easier for people to get and stay healthy, and part of that is making it easier to discover the products, services, and professionals that can help them do that.

“Many aren’t aware of the healthcare benefits they are eligible for, that are typically no cost or subsidised by their employer or insurance plan.

“When customers are shopping for health-related products on Amazon, we can surface these benefits to provide even more support in improving their health, at no additional cost.”
