These additions aim to reduce inventory errors, improve restock efficiency, and provide better visibility for demand prediction.

US-based computer technology company Oracle is enhancing its Fusion Cloud Inventory Management to support healthcare organisations in optimising stock availability and improving patient care.

The new mobile capabilities include features such as PAR Management Workbench for inventory level visibility, Mobile PAR Counting App for efficient PAR management, and Last-Mile Logistics App to enhance logistics management.

These enhancements include barcode scanning support for various inventory transactions in healthcare facilities, such as receiving, putaway, picking, and material transfers.

The additions aim to reduce inventory errors, improve restock efficiency, and provide better visibility for demand prediction.

They are said to be the part of Oracle Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing’s plan to help healthcare organisations automate processes and improve supply chain visibility.

Oracle's platform, as part of the Fusion Applications Suite, provides a comprehensive suite of enterprise applications on a single integrated cloud platform, with updates every 90 days for continuous innovation.

Oracle applications development executive vice president Chris Leone said: “Healthcare organisations are under pressure to deliver a consistently high standard of care while managing costs.

“With Oracle Cloud SCM’s new inventory management capabilities, healthcare providers can improve the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management processes to expand visibility, reduce costs, and ensure the right stock is available in the right place, at the right time.”

Simultaneously, many healthcare organisations in the US have chosen Oracle Health's CommunityWorks, an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system.

These organisations include Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Golden Plains Community Hospital, Murray-Calloway County Hospital, Nashville General Hospital, Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital and Culbertson Clinics.

CommunityWorks is designed to address the challenges faced by community and critical access hospitals, such as geographic isolation, workforce shortages, technology disparities, and limited resources.

The system aims to improve patient care, clinician efficiency, and collaboration in smaller hospital operations.
