Non-profit healthcare organisation Orlando Health has collaborated with multi-specialty physician group Florida Medical Clinic (FMC) to improve care access in Pasco and Hillsborough counties in Florida, US.
Founded in 1993, FMC comprises 54 locations, 40 medical specialities, and over 350 healthcare providers, along with two surgery centres and two urgent care centres.
The multi-speciality medical facility combines medical and primary care specialists for providing integrated patient care.
FMC’s specialities include infectious diseases, wound care, endocrinology, cardiology, allergy, asthma and immunology, dermatology, interventional and non-interventional pain management, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, rheumatology, nephrology, neurology, podiatry, and proctology, among others.
Orlando Health president and CEO David Strong said: “Florida Medical Clinic has provided its patients with access to distinguished physicians and providers for three decades.
“Together, we will continue that legacy while also providing the world-class patient care that both health care systems are known for throughout the Tampa Bay region.”
Both the organisations are planning to open a new hospital in Wiregrass Ranch as part of the collaboration.
The new hospital will be located at the northeast corner of the State Road 56 intersection and Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard.
Orlando Health is a 3,888-bed system that comprises 29 hospitals and emergency units. Of these, 24 have started operations while the remaining five will be operational soon.
