The partnership between healthcare provider Getinge and Siemens Healthineers has witnessed a milestone with the inauguration of two hybrid operating rooms (ORs) in the ASST Sette Laghi hospital in Varese, Italy.
These multi-modality ORs are designed to cater to complex procedures that require multiple surgical teams and diverse technologies.
They are equipped with Getinge's Maquet Magnus operating tables, which are integrated with interventional X-ray equipment.
This project also includes Maquet Moduevo ceiling supply units and Maquet PowerLED II surgical lights, further contributing to the environment.
Getinge has implemented digital solutions in these hybrid ORs.
The Tegris OR Integration system allows for video, device, and data management, including video-over-IP capabilities.
The ORs have a high-end robotic angiography imaging system, the ARTIS pheno; and a computed tomography (CT) scanner, the SOMATOM Edge Plus Sliding Gantry.
This CT scanner is positioned between the two ORs and operates on rails, allowing for flexible usage in either room as needed.
Getinge Italy Surgical Workflows senior project manager Luca Sartori said: “These Hybrid rooms will revolutionise the work of healthcare professionals and provide significant advantages regarding patient safety. The ability to connect the high-end angiography imaging system and fully integrate it in the operating rooms is a major step towards more streamlined and coordinated surgeries.”
Getinge also announced the opening of a new Experience Center in Mumbai, India, for recreating real-world healthcare settings.
This will bring an opportunity for customers and other visitors to evaluate the way innovations can improve healthcare delivery.
The company provides products and solutions for hospitals and life science institutions, focusing on improving clinical outcomes and workflows.
