US-based non-profit healthcare system Ozarks Healthcare has partnered with Avo (previously known as AvoMD) to integrate Avo's AI clinical decision support platform into its MEDITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

The collaboration aims to enhance clinician workflows and patient care across the Ozarks Healthcare system, which includes an acute care hospital with 114 beds and various speciality clinics.

Ozarks Healthcare chief medical information officer Dr Priscilla Frase said: “At Ozarks Healthcare, our mission is to deliver high-tech services across many specialities so patients can stay close to home while receiving the care they need.

“We were actively searching for a technology partner that would enable us to help our clinicians deliver excellent care while also improving their wellbeing.

“Avo's ease of integration into MEDITECH, combined with its cost-effective solutions across many important workflows, was a no-brainer.“

Ozarks Healthcare is using Avo's AI scribe, Chart Synopsis & Care Guide, and Ask Avo functionalities to support clinicians.

Avo’s AI Scribe feature allows for real-time transcription of patient-provider interactions in multiple languages, integrating patient information from the EHR with evidence-based guidelines.

Avo's Chart Synopsis & Care Guide provides clinicians with a quick patient snapshot, highlighting any potential care gaps.

The Ask Avo solution allows clinicians to ask questions within the EHR, offering responses based on a holistic patient view and evidence-based guidelines.

Avo co-founder and product head Dr Joongheum Park said: “We are thrilled to partner with Ozarks Healthcare, a system that is dedicated to delivering the highest quality care within its community using innovative technology.

“It is because of systems like Ozarks Healthcare that we can advance the practice of medicine for the patients who need it most in a way that significantly reduces provider burnout in the process.“

Ozarks Healthcare currently employs more than 1,300 colleagues across the south-central Missouri and north-central Arkansas regions.
