Dubai Health, an integrated academic health system, has inaugurated a new Center for Prenatal Pediatrics within Dubai’s Latifa Hospital.

Located within Latifa Hospital, the centre is dedicated to the management of high-risk pregnancies and the provision of specialised monitoring for expectant mothers.

It is equipped with the latest high-precision technology to provide comprehensive care for complex and sensitive cases.

The centre has a team of multidisciplinary specialists, including paediatrics and obstetrics, to offer continuous care and monitoring from pregnancy to childbirth, with the goal of reducing potential future health complications.

It will start welcoming patients from 12 February 2024.

The facility’s inauguration was marked by a ceremony on 8 February, attended by Dubai Health representatives and several senior officials and dignitaries.

Dubai Health chief medical officer and Latifa Hospital CEO Dr Muna Tahlak said: “Equipped with the latest technology and expertise, the Center for Prenatal Pediatrics serves as a proactive response to the escalating demand for advanced prenatal care.

“The centre is a valuable addition to our academic health system, providing specialised care for expectant mothers and their children facing critical conditions. Moreover, the centre holds tremendous potential to emerge as a hub for discovery, fostering research and innovation specifically focused on advancing prenatal care and managing these challenging cases.”

The new centre is supported by privately held holding company Al Tayer Group.

Al Tayer Group, through Dubai Health’s key philanthropic arm, has donated approximately Dh4m ($1.08m) to set up the centre.

The latest announcement comes shortly after Dubai Health laid the foundation for the new Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital (HBRCH).

The HBRCH, which is set to be Dubai’s first integrated and comprehensive cancer hospital, is expected to open in 2026.
