US-based PAM Health has announced plans to open a new rehabilitation hospital in San Antonio's Westover Hills area.
This will be the health system’s fourth rehabilitation centre and sixth hospital in the area.
The hospital will feature 42 private rooms, a pharmacy, a therapy gym, and a cafeteria.
It will provide care for patients recovering from serious illness or injury and assist them in regaining their health.
The facility will be staffed by approximately 200 people, including doctors, therapists, nurses, and support staff.
PAM Health founder, chair, and CEO Anthony Misitano said: “Our first hospitals were in Texas and our dedication to Texans has only grown stronger over the years.
“We continue to see an expanding need in the greater San Antonio community for the calibre of physical, occupational, and speech therapy PAM Health is known for.”
The other three rehabilitation centres run by the health system in the area are PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of Northeast San Antonio, PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio, and PAM Health Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of Westover Hills.
It also operates two acute care hospitals including PAM Health Specialty Hospital of San Antonio and PAM Health Specialty Hospital of San Antonio Medical Center in the area.
PAM Health runs a network of 27 long-term acute care hospitals, 43 physical medicine and rehabilitation facilities, three behavioural health facilities, additional wound clinics, and outpatient physical therapy locations across 17 US states.
