Preferred Management has announced plans to adopt MEDITECH’s Expanse Electronic Health Record (EHR) system across its network.
This move aims to standardise healthcare records across its seven hospitals and nine clinics in Texas, leveraging the subscription-based MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) platform.
The cloud-native offering will provide the hospital management organisation with one comprehensive EHR across its network.
With the dual challenges of rising operational expenditures and reduced reimbursements, Preferred Management CFO Josh Tucker said this approach is anticipated to be a strategic investment for the company.
A phased implementation strategy will ensure a unified set of standards across all facilities.
Tucker said: “After a thorough evaluation process, we selected MEDITECH Expanse as the best partner, offering solutions and scalability for today and into the future.
“We felt that MEDITECH will provide greater efficiencies for our team and expanded resources for our patients.”
Preferred Management is said to have adopted the MaaS model due to its tailored, hands-on deployment approach to implementing advanced EHR capabilities.
The integration of patient records facilitated by Expanse across hospitals, clinics, and emergency departments is poised to enhance the patient-centred care of the organisation.
A key feature of this integration is the launch of a patient portal, which could boost patient engagement and the overall quality of care.
This portal will aid patients to schedule appointments online, gain access to lab results, and complete essential paperwork before their visits.
Preferred Management executive vice-president Jared Chanski said: “We anticipate MEDITECH to be a long-term partner with their proven track record of success.
“Our move to the cloud will provide us with the high level of integration we have needed to enhance patient care within our hospitals and clinics.”
