US-based healthcare service provider Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) has adopted the technology of eClinicalWorks and Sunoh.ai to improve its clinical efficiency and enhance patient care.

As part of the development, RAHC leveraged eClinicalWorks’ Electronic Dental Record (EDR) and Sunoh.ai artificial intelligence (AI)-driven medical scribe.

Last year, eClinicalWorks, a provider of ambulatory cloud EHR, introduced various transformative AI features, including the integration with Sunoh.ai.

RAHC provides complete healthcare services, including primary care, dental, and behavioural health, to the residents of Rockbridge County, Virginia.

The healthcare provider expanded its outreach last year by introducing two mobile units, one for medical and one for dental services.

Such units visit multiple schools in the US, providing essential dental care, vaccination clinics, sports physicals, and medical visits.

RAHC is currently enhancing its services by adding medical and behavioural health services to schools already receiving dental care through the mobile unit.

The cloud-based eClinicalWorks EDR system uses interoperability networks to improve daily operations. It allows healthcare providers to streamline resources, concentrate on patient care, and minimise costs.

Sunoh.ai medical scribe transcribes patient-doctor conversations into clinical notes, providing over 30,000 providers nationwide with custom highlights, alerts, and summaries for physician approval.

It captures details such as lab orders, imaging, medication instructions, referrals, and follow-up appointments.

Rockbridge Area Health Center chief operating officer Mary Looney said: “eClinicalWorks is a one-stop solution that supports our mission to provide comprehensive, high-quality and affordable care to our community.

“The transition to eClinicalWorks dental solutions has been seamless, without losing any previous functionalities. It allows us to comprehensively view a patient’s medical and dental history in one unified system. Our providers are using Sunoh.ai and noted the documentation accuracy and efficiency is remarkable. The AI-powered medical scribe offers to reduce administrative burdens, leaving physicians to focus on patient care.”
