Reem Hospital has joined forces with Swift Day Surgery Center to launch the new Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Laser Surgery in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The two organisations formalised the partnership during an official signing ceremony in the presence of Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi CEO Clancey Po and Biolitec Group chairman Dr Wolfgang Neuberger, alongside senior representatives from both organisations.
This collaboration aims to bring minimally invasive laser proctology services to both the local population and expatriates in Abu Dhabi and its surrounding regions.
The adoption of minimally invasive laser treatment is designed to offer accurate and safe medical solutions and these treatments are increasingly becoming the preferred option for patients seeking alternatives to conventional surgery.
The minimally invasive laser treatments are said to be precise and pain-free while having a high success rate, minimal scarring, reduced complication risks, and quicker recovery periods.
Swift Day Surgery uses Biolitec's laser technology for these procedures, which are typically performed under local anaesthesia or sedation.
Swift Day Surgery managing director Karan Rekhi said: “Our initial focus will be on detailed proctology procedures such as the treatment of haemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, and vascular procedures, including the treatment of varicose and spider veins. We plan to expand to other service lines soon.”
Neuberger added: “This marks our entry into the Abu Dhabi market, introducing advanced treatments across various healthcare specialities such as proctology, vascular surgery, gynaecology, urology, and more. Our state-of-the-art Biolitec laser technology ensures precision, effectiveness, and safety in every procedure.”
Reem Hospital, a healthcare facility on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, is managed by VAMED Management & Service and provides various specialised outpatient and inpatient services.
In February this year, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health inaugurated a new neuroscience centre at Reem Hospital to offer care for a range of conditions, including psychiatry, psychotherapy, and child psychiatry.
