Resilience Healthcare selects Altera’s EHR platform

With Paragon, the health system aims to get an integrated clinical, financial, and ambulatory solution across all care settings.

Chicago-based Resilience Healthcare has entered into a seven-year contract with healthcare IT provider Altera Digital Health.

Under this collaboration, the health system will deploy Altera’s Paragon electronic health record (EHR) platform at its facilities.

Resilience Healthcare, which operates multiple facilities, previously used different EHR systems for acute and ambulatory care.

According to Altera, Paragon is a specialised Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform designed for community health systems, particularly in rural and community hospitals.

It integrates acute and ambulatory EHR features, offering clinical information and decision support tools at the point of care.

The platform focuses on improving clinician satisfaction, with workflow intelligence guides for efficient patient information retrieval.

It leverages a single Microsoft SQL database core architecture, which is claimed to simplify data management and upgrades for healthcare providers.

With Paragon, the health system aims to achieve an integrated clinical, financial, and ambulatory solution across all care settings.

This platform is delivered in the Azure cloud, offering scalability and advanced security controls from Microsoft.

Altera will also adopt various solutions from Altera's Ventus portfolio, including Ventus Intelligent Coding, Ventus Contract Management, and Ventus Compliance Advisor, to optimise revenue and reduce compliance risks.

Resilience Healthcare CEO Dr. Manoj Prasad said: “Healthcare organisations want to get the most out of their substantial IT investments, but for community hospitals, it is absolutely critical.

“As we explored our options in the market, we found that Altera’s offerings would help our providers deliver exceptional care and give us a fully integrated solution to address the business needs of the organisation.”

The aging population is a captive market for medical devices

With rising pressure on governments, payers, and manufacturers to reduce healthcare costs, innovative medical technologies have tremendous potential to improve elder care. Advancements in medical device technology have resulted in a significant increase in the number of conditions that can be managed in a home care setting. To capitalize on this strong demand and growth, manufacturers are increasingly producing consumer-targeted equipment.
