The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) has partnered with Australian digital health commercialisation company ANDHealth to obtain access to digital and connected solutions.
This collaboration is set to provide RMH with early access and insights into new health technologies emerging from Australia.
ANDHealth will gain frontline insights into the needs of clinicians and health providers concerning technology.
Concurrently, RMH will benefit from independent expert advice on technologies, ensuring its patient care technology remains at the forefront.
ANDHealth collaborates with more than 970 digital and connected healthcare companies, along with global partners, offering current viewpoints on practical and evolving health technology solutions.
They are also responsible for managing non-dilutive grant funding and mentoring programmes, some of which are funded through the Medical Research Future Fund.
ANDHealth CEO Bronwyn Le Grice said: “The potential for digital and connected healthcare solutions to drive better patient outcomes and improve productivity and efficiency has been spoken about for some time.
"By partnering with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we can accelerate the translation of cutting-edge technologies to the frontline of care delivery and transform potential into reality."
The RMH now becomes the first hospital system core partner for ANDHealth.
It joins a list of partners, including Curve Tomorrow, HPM Executive, RMIT University, Planet Innovation, Telstra Health, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and HLTH-Community.
According to the RMH chief executive professor Shelley Dolan, the partnership, in an evidence-based way, will accelerate innovation for the hospital.
Dolan said: “As a major trauma hospital, we are constantly looking to innovate and develop resources for our staff and patients.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with ANDHealth, who reflect the growing importance of the digital agenda in improving equity of access to excellent healthcare.
“ANDHealth’s role as our ‘Innovation Partner’ ensures we will have access to pre-qualified, cutting-edge solutions while allowing us to focus on what we do best—delivering exceptional care."
