SimplePractice, an EngageSmart healthcare solution, has reached an agreement to purchase the assets of the electronic medical record and practice management platform Luminello.

The deal consideration was not revealed.

Luminello serves psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other prescribing medical experts.

The tool offers features such as e-prescribing, appointment scheduling, claims management, and integrated credit card processing, among others.

Through the acquisition of Luminello’s assets, SimplePractice expects to expand its presence in the psychiatric segment of the mental health market.

The company looks to expedite growth with multi-disciplinary group practices, by providing a broad suite of functionality for its increasing practitioner base.

SimplePractice stated that the deal will boost the value of new services it developed to ease the administrative pressures of working with managed care organisations, health plans, and employee assistance programmes.
