Southlake Regional Health Centre boosts communication with Hypercare

This technology will streamline Southlake's inefficient scheduling process and reduce the load on the hospital switchboard.

Southlake Regional Health Centre in Canada has procured the Hypercare digital software solution to improve hospital communication and on-call scheduling.

This technology is claimed to streamline Southlake's previously inefficient scheduling process and reduce the load on the hospital switchboard.

Hypercare's platform allows instant contact with on-call doctors, secure sharing of clinical images, and prioritisation of important messages.

A non-profit organisation supporting health technology innovation, OBIO,   worked with Southlake through its Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN) to evaluate Hypercare's impact on scheduling.

Hypercare CEO Dr Albert Tai said: “With the current stress in the healthcare system, EAHN has been able to provide more resources for the project to help get it off the ground.

“They are helping remove obstacles in the way to allow healthcare systems to sign off on Hypercare and see the value.”

The evaluation demonstrated that Hypercare effectively addressed Southlake's scheduling and communication challenges.

As a result, OBIO's EAHN programme provided funding and advisory support for Southlake to implement Hypercare's platform.

OBIO president and CEO Dr Maura Campbell said: “The Hypercare procurement demonstrates how the EAHN programme enables the adoption of innovative Canadian technologies in our health systems.

“We are delighted that through EAHN, Southlake now has a streamlined on-call scheduling system that will benefit patients, thanks to better-coordinated care.

“EAHN’s 65+ member health organisations and systems can now leverage Southlake’s procurement of Hypercare to adopt the technology.”

Medical robotics set to witness robust growth in the next decade
