US-based orthopaedic care network Spire Orthopedic Partners has partnered with Ortho Rhode Island (Ortho RI) and its affiliated ambulatory surgery centre to create an orthopaedic platform in the Northeast US region.
The partnership brings together 35 physicians from Ortho RI, who specialise in a wide range of orthopaedic disciplines.
Ortho RI’s president and CEO Dr Michael Bradley will assume the role of chief medical officer and lead at Ortho RI, working alongside a new clinical governance board.
The company's existing brand identity and leadership will be maintained under the partnership.
Founded in 2015, Ortho RI delivers clinical care from six locations and an ambulatory surgery centre.
In addition to its clinical services, the company offers a range of ancillary services, including advanced imaging and physical therapy.
Ortho RI president and CEO Dr Michael Bradley said: “At Ortho Rhode Island, our goal is to provide the highest quality clinical outcomes and patient experience.
“We are excited to partner with the team at Spire to leverage their capital and management resources to continue to grow Ortho RI in ways that allow us to expand access to our high-quality care in both new and existing markets.”
Based in Stamford, Connecticut, Spire Orthopedic Partners is a physician-owned organisation that offers management services to orthopaedic and spine practices.
The group is supported by Kohlberg & Company, a private equity firm based in New York.
Following the partnership with Ortho RI, the Spire network includes more than 1,800 employees, 165 physicians and 285 clinical providers across 40 locations in the Northeast region.
Spire CEO Christopher Fusco said: “We are thrilled to partner with the world-class physicians at Ortho Rhode Island.
“Dr Bradley and his partners are leaders in their fields and represent a perfect strategic fit for the high-quality platform we are building.”
