US-based Stamford Health has announced the launch of the Harbor Point Walk-In Center, a new immediate care facility in Stamford's Harbor Point neighbourhood.
Situated at 170 Washington Blvd., the centre is the health system’s fourth immediate care walk-in clinic and its second establishment in Harbor Point, following the HSS Sports Rehab Harbor Point.
The Harbor Point clinic will offer walk-in services from 8am to 8pm daily for patients aged 14 years and above.
The healthcare offerings provided at the facility include treatment for general illnesses, cold, the flu, and Covid-19 symptoms, as well as vaccinations and care for minor injuries and sprains.
Stamford Health plans to launch OB-GYN and other women's health services shortly at the new centre.
This addition to Stamford Health’s network of ambulatory locations aims to deliver medical care to the local community, particularly to those new to the area or without a primary care physician.
The centre is staffed with advanced practice providers and support personnel who, in addition to providing on-site treatment, will assist patients in connecting with other specialists within the Stamford Health system for ongoing care.
Stamford Health Medical Group chief physician executive, president and CEO Rod Acosta said: “At Stamford Health, we take pride in delivering convenient access to care in the right setting.
“Our goal at Stamford Health is to provide top-of-the-line service to our community, and expanding our presence in Harbor Point with walk-in appointment availability will allow us to care for and treat more members of the communities we serve.”
Stamford Health encompasses the 305-bed Stamford Hospital, the Stamford Health Medical Group, which has over 40 offices providing primary and speciality care, and the Stamford Hospital Foundation.
In September last year, Stamford Health re-introduced a palliative care programme at the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center.
