Health technology provider TELUS Health has entered an exclusive strategic alliance with Clinia, a provider of health-grade search technologies.

This collaboration aims to revolutionise health navigation and deliver personalised care to people throughout their health journeys.

By integrating Clinia's AI-powered technology, TELUS Health aims to improve the management of provider registry networks.

It will facilitate interconnectivity and help in driving cost sustainability for payers and providers to further eliminate the inefficiencies of conventional provider registry networks, which are costly and often lack comprehensive connectivity.

Leveraging combined infrastructure, the companies will also help to streamline administrative processes and reduce manual data entry through advanced turnkey solutions.

The new solution will enable payers to offer a single, comprehensive system that supports trusted experiences, including referrals and care team resource management, while providing members with direct access to vetted care providers tailored to specific benefits plans.

Clinia CEO and co-founder Simon Bédard said: “By leveraging Clinia’s Health-grade Search stack to supercharge Canada’s leading provider network, adjudication, and pharmacy solutions, TELUS Health’s offerings will now be even further ahead.

“Our technology will support them to create connected provider ecosystems that enable payors worldwide to enhance their services, all while empowering more impactful healthcare journeys for individuals and communities.”

In addition, TELUS Ventures, the strategic investment arm of TELUS, is leading a $10m Series A financing round for Clinia.

AQC Capital, Anges Québec, Groupe Benoit, Kastello, and Formentera Capital will also participate in the fundraiser.

The funding is intended to accelerate Clinia's growth and integration into the TELUS ecosystem.

TELUS Health Payor and Provider Solutions managing director Martin Bélanger said: “We are investing in advanced technology to provide a more direct and personalised service that will empower individuals through better access to care and more highly customised recommendations based on their personal health needs.”

In April 2020, TELUS Health expanded its Home Health Monitoring solution to enable virtual support in British Columbia, Canada, especially for patients affected by Covid-19.
