Williamson Health, a healthcare network based in Tennessee, US, has turned to software company SONIFI Health as part of a $200m expansion and renovation.

The flagship hospital of the health network, Williamson Medical Center, is incorporating SONIFI Health's interactive TV technology with an embedded digital whiteboard in its postpartum unit.

This technology is said to offer parents and visitors important information, educational videos, meal ordering, and entertainment options.

It is integrated with the hospital's EHR system, MEDITECH, to provide real-time updates on critical care information.

Williamson Health director of patient experience Celena Mullen said: “We chose these interactive TVs with SONIFI Health because we wanted to make our patients’ stay more enjoyable and relaxing.

“What we can do with the features of this technology is help provide the information and education patients need, while soothing their minds so they can focus on healing.

“This and all the new technologies throughout our hospital aren’t replacing the personal care our dedicated and skilled staff provides, but rather augmenting the experience and providing additional tools to use throughout the patient’s care journey.”

Besides, SONIFI Health deployed its technology in the refurbished emergency unit as well as lobby areas, with more installations planned as the expansion continues.

SONIFI Health general manager Kelly Boyd said: “This multi-year project reflects Williamson Health’s commitment to patients and investment in the future of their community.

“Having been part of these first units re-opening, we are more excited than ever to expand our partnership throughout the rest of Williamson’s campus.”
