BigBear.ai has expanded its alliance with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a move aimed at improving day-to-day operations in resource and bed management, nurse staffing, and the transfer centre.
The partnership leverages BigBear.ai's FutureFlow RX Predictive AI platform, allowing hospitals to create digital twins of their facilities and simulate various operational scenarios.
This predictive knowledge enables hospitals to enhance planning and execution.
According to the BigBear.ai website, FutureFlow Rx is a patient flow analytics platform that uses electronic health records (EHR) data to continuously update and predict patient census and bed availability for optimal care.
It offers the ability to predict and manage patient discharges, staffing needs, and accurate bed counts.
This platform can forecast patient census for various timeframes and allows testing of "what-if" scenarios and contingency plans.
In addition, it is said to be useful for long-term planning of facility expansion and service lines in healthcare settings.
In a strategic planning exercise, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital used FutureFlow RX to optimise its master facility plan in response to predicted hospital volume growth and demand shifts.
BigBear.ai chief growth officer Greg Goldwater said: “BigBear.ai is thrilled to expand its work with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
“Because BigBear’s Predictive AI platform can effectively predict future outcomes through event simulation and ‘What if’ analysis, it’s a game-changer for hospital systems looking to roll out strategic growth plans.
“We look forward to our next phase of collaboration that will ultimately drive better patient care and outcomes.”
