UiPath, Apprio team up on healthcare automation tech

The new solutions are expected to help hospitals and health systems enhance operational and financial performance.

Enterprise automation software firm UiPath has joined hands with Apprio, a technology and service solutions provider for hospitals and health systems, to deliver AI-powered automation solutions for midmarket healthcare organisations.

The new solutions are expected to help hospitals and health systems improve operational and financial performance.

This partnership will see UiPath leverage capabilities of Apprio in automating critical revenue cycle management functions to help healthcare systems in making significant return on investment.

The marks an extension of the collaboration between the two firms, which have been providing automation solutions for customers in the health sector to help manage staff and resource shortages and a backlog of patients.

UiPath said Apprio had implemented new automations with UiPath’s AI Computer Vision, with no up-front charges to the hospital or healthcare system.

Apprio president and CEO Darryl Britt said: “We are excited to grow our partnership with UiPath, the leader in AI-powered enterprise automation, and help our healthcare customers create a modern vision of traditional revenue cycle management services.

“We are seeing increased demand from customers who want pre-built or full-service solutions from Apprio that make implementing, maintaining, and scaling automation practices much more simplified, convenient, and cost effective.

“The managed services model provides customers with immediate return on investment while benefiting from our deep automation expertise in license management, implementation, and ongoing development and support.”

UiPath chief customer officer Kelly Ducourty said that customers can gain value from the two firms in the form of lower costs, increased productivity, and new efficiencies in their operations.

Patient consumerism is gaining momentum

Healthcare is evolving from a ‘doctor knows best’ mentality to a patient-doctor relationship where the patient takes an active role in making informed healthcare decisions. Patients can have more of a say in their healthcare decisions because they have access to information through various means, including the literature, the internet, and more recently, different types of connected medical devices. With the rise of mobile health applications, wearable technologies, and telemedicine, patients are well-situated to gain medical information, and ultimately make the best choices for their health.
