US-based Shoshone Medical Center and Eureka Springs Hospital have adopted Oracle Health CommunityWorks, an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system, to enhance their clinical, financial, and operational needs.
CommunityWorks is tailored to support smaller hospital operations in both acute and ambulatory settings, offering a comprehensive solution for overcoming staffing challenges, increasing financial stability, and improving experiences of patients.
The 25-bed Shoshone Medical Center is leveraging CommunityWorks to integrate patient and financial data from various sources.
This move is expected to help the healthcare facility in facilitating coordinated care and enhancing patient experiences without the need for manual intervention.
Similarly, Eureka Springs Hospital, a seven-bed Rural Health Emergency hospital in Arkansas, has replaced its outdated system and disparate solutions with the unified EHR, enabling care teams to access and update patient records promptly.
Other hospitals integrating CommunityWorks include Henry Community Health, Johnson Regional Medical Center, and Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Johnson Regional Medical Center, in particular, is preparing to replace its legacy EHR system with CommunityWorks and plans to incorporate additional Oracle Health applications to enable secure and straightforward collaboration among care teams through smart mobile devices.
These applications are expected to improve revenue cycle management and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Montgomery County Memorial Hospital CEO Ron Kloewer said: “There are efficiency and productivity improvements with Oracle Health RevElate Patient Accounting that will help us with denial management, contract management, and to monitor trends to find underpayments.
“There are significant improvements in work list management, pre-billing edits, and other automations that will help reduce the need for manual intervention. Combine that with improved analytics and reporting, and we expect our revenue cycle performance to excel.”
Besides, Oracle Health has recently expanded the value of CommunityWorks by integrating additional applications.
These include Oracle Health RevElate Patient Accounting for automating revenue cycle workflows to simplify financial processes, and Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant, an AI-powered tool that assists in patient visits and streamlining clinical documentation.
Additionally, Oracle Health Seamless Exchange has been made available to facilitate care coordination between facilities and provide a more comprehensive view of a patient's health history.
